Saints place LT Brown on injured reserve

The season of Saints LT Jammal Brown is officially over. The Saints announced Tuesday the team placed Brown on the reserve/injured list and re-signed offensive lineman Nick Leckey.

Brown, the Saints’ starter since he was a first-round draft choice in 2005, underwent surgical procedures to repair a sports hernia and a hip injury last month and has not played this season. He has started all 58 games he has played in during his first four seasons and has been selected to the Pro Bowl twice.

Third-year lineman Jermon Bushrod has started all three games at left tackle this season for the Saints.
