The NFL can sure be unpredictable!

Drew Brees looked like he was a sure bet to post huge fantasy numbers this week against the Bills and their 31st-ranked pass defense.
So much for that.
Through just over three quarters, Brees has thrown for a mere 140 yards with no touchdowns in what’s turned into a defensive battle. In what is even more bad news for fantasy owners, the Saints have used a three-back rotation in the contest.
Pierre Thomas, Reggie Bush and Lynell Hamilton have all seen carries, with Bush leading the way with 12. Such a scenario, if it lasts throughout the season, would make for some real headaches.
In other news, the Miami Dolphins have lost Chad Pennington to an injured shoulder. Chad Henne is under center in his absence.
Speaking of quarterbacks, it’s pretty obvious that fantasy owners can’t trust Carson Palmer. After putting up huge numbers against the Packers in Week 2, he’s thrown for an awful 87 yards and no touchdowns against the Steelers.
