Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris said that starting FS Jermaine Phillips suffered a broken thumb in Sunday’s 33-20 loss to the Bills and will be evaluated by doctors today. Morris didn’t offer any indication of if, or how long, Phillips would be out.
“I don’t have a feel for what it is or how bad it is,” Morris said.
Starting center Jeff Faine will be out again this week due to his triceps injury. Faine has been inactive for both games this season, and was replaced by veteran Sean Mahan against the Bills. Morris said WR Antonio Bryant is day to day with his lingering knee issues.
