Samuel, Westbrook out for Eagles

Philadelphia Eagles CB Asante Samuel has left today’s game for the second time due to injury, this time an apparent problem with his head or neck. Samuel was injured during the fourth quarter while making a tackle on Saints RB Reggie Bush, and was down on the field for a couple of minutes as trainers checked his neck. The trainers appeared to be erring on the side of caution, though, as Samuel was able to get to his feet and make his way to the bench without any assistance.
The game broadcast announced Samuel, who also left during the first half with a quad injury, was suffering from a “stinger.” With the Eagles trailing the Saints 41-20, it would appear doubtful Samuel would come back in the game.
The Eagles are also missing RB Brian Westbrook, who was spotted on the trainers’ table on the sidelines during the fourth quarter. No word on what, if any, injury is keeping Westbrook out, although the game broadcast believed he was slowed by a gimpy right ankle. He has 13 carries for 52 yards in the game. Rookie RB LeSean McCoy has played the last two series for the Eagles.
Saints RB Mike Bell also limped off the field during the Saints’ last drive with an apparent knee injury. There’s been no official update on his potential injury, and Bush is handling the rushing duties for the Saints.
