Patriots to play without WR Welker

Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker is inactive for the Patriots today against the AFC East rival New York Jets. The 2008 Pro Bowler is sidelined by a knee injury, and was listed as questionable.

Welker had 12 receptions for 93 yards in the Patriots’ comeback victory in Week 1 over the Bills on Monday Night Football.

Two other starters for the Patriots — RG Stephen Neal (back) and LB Adalius Thomas (foot) are active today.
