Sharpe to Marshall: ‘Keep your mouth shut’

Former Broncos TE Shannon Sharpe, just days away from his induction into the team’s Ring of Fame, offered a few choice words directed toward disgruntled Denver WR Brandon Marshall. From the Denver Post:

“Keep your head down, keep your mouth shut and work your tail off,” Sharpe said. “There’s nothing you can do about the past, (but) you can deal with the future. Let your play speak for you and see what happens. That’s all you can do.
“I always felt, yes, I was employed by the Broncos, but every time I practiced, every time I played, I was auditioning for everyone, I was showing what I was about as a player.”

Some other notes from Around the Web:

  • If the Minnesota Twins, who entered Saturday three games behind the Detroit Tigers, finish the season in a tie atop the American League Central, the tiebreaker game would be Oct. 5 in the Metrodome — the same night the Vikings are scheduled to host the Packers on Monday Night Football. The NFL is looking into the possibility of flipping home sites for the two NFC North games, meaning Brett Favre‘s return to Lambeau Field could come sooner than expected.
  • Joshua Cribbs, perhaps the most exciting return man in the league, said the Browns’ coaching staff has indicated they will allow him to throw more out of the Wildcat scheme.
  • As evidenced by his five receptions for 74 yards and a touchdown vs. the Chiefs last week, Ravens TE Todd Heap is pain free and back to his pass-catching ways. This after experiencing what Heap described as the worst pain of his career last season.
