District attorney closes case against Merriman

The San Diego County District Attorney’s Office has decided to not move forward on reality TV star Tila Tequila‘s accusations of domestic violence against San Diego Chargers LB Shawne Merriman.

San Diego County District Attorney Bonnie M. Dumanis issued the following statement on Friday: “After a thorough review of the investigation into the Sept. 6, 2009 incident at the Poway home of Shawne Merriman, our office has determined there is insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that any crime was committed. This case is now closed. No further comment will be made.”

The Chargers open the 2009 season on the road at Oakland.
