PITTSBURGH — Steelers chairman Dan Rooney is on hand for the game, but he won’t be attending many others the rest of the season.

Rooney has a very full plate these days as the United States’ Ambassador to Ireland.

He says he loves the job, although those close to him say he has found it to be a bit more hectic than he anticipated. In his role, Rooney is required to attend plenty of social gatherings, which isn’t exactly something he is known to relish.
