Rams place Carriker on IR, trim roster

One day after the Rams admitted that DT Adam Carriker had a “significant shoulder injury,” they placed him on season-ending injured reserve.
St. Louis also trimmed its roster to the 53-man limit. RB Antonio Pittman, who was a fourth-round pick by the Saints in 2007, was among the notable cuts. He started five games for the Rams last season and averaged 3.7 yards on 79 carries in 12 games.
The Rams also terminated the contracts of vested veterans WR Tim Carter, WR Ronald Curry and S Todd Johnson.
The Rams also placed DE Eric Moore on the reserve/injured list with a hand injury.
