Matt Bryant, the Buccaneers’ kicker for the last four seasons, lost his job to former Jet Mike Nugent.
Bryant was among 21 players released by the Bucs today.
Bryant is best known for his 3-for-3 performance, including the go-ahead field goal against the Packers, in Week 4 of last season. That came just four days after the death of his 3-month-old son.
Bryant also kicked a 62-yard field goal as time expired to beat the Eagles in Week 7 of the 2006 season.
Also among the players cut was second-year LB Bo Ruud, the younger brother of Bucs LB Barrett Ruud.
