The Steelers say they’re down to the 53-player roster limit, but they won’t say who they cut until Saturday. The reason? Coach Mike Tomlin doesn’t want other teams to have a competitive advantage by knowing who is available before they make their cuts.

However, The Associated Press reports that FB Carey Davis, OL A.Q. Shipley and LB Bruce Davis were expected to be among the players released. AP also speculates that the Steelers might be waiting to officially announce their cuts because they’re trying to move rookie RB Isaac Redman from the active roster to the practice squad after his amazing preseason.
