Goodell will make decision on Vick ‘very soon’

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell met with suspended Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick to discuss his reinstatement as Jason La Canfora reported earlier today. Goodell has confirmed that meeting during an interview on SIRIUS Radio, and validated reports that he will make a decision on Vick’s future, possibly as early as today.
“I expect to make a decision about his status soon,” Goodell told Chris Russo. “And very soon. Maybe even as early as today. But i’m not suggesting to you what that decision is.”
Goodell said part of his discussion with Vick revolved around media reports that he consumed an alcoholic beverage, which Goodell clarified is not a violation of Vick’s probation.
“I wanted to use it as a reinforcement that he is under a tremendous microscope here,” Goodell said. ”People are going to jump to conclusions, people are going to frame it in a way that he may not be able control. He has to be very careful of that.”
