Chiefs release veteran WR Toomer

WR Amani Toomer‘s stay with the Chiefs didn’t last long.

The team announced today that it has released Toomer, who came to Kansas City on Aug. 4 after signing a one-year free-agent contract.

NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reported earlier today that Toomer was on the bubble.

Toomer spent 13 seasons with the Giants and caught 668 passes for 9,497 yards and 54 touchdowns.
