Introduced by the customary Viking horn, Brett Favre took the field at 6:20 p.m. local time, with fellow Minnesota QBs Tarvaris Jackson and John David Booty. Sage Rosenfels won’t play in tonight’s preseason game against the Chiefs because of an ankle injury.

The Napa Police Department announced Friday on its Web site that it is investigating the incident that occurred at Raiders training-camp headquarters on Aug. 5, when assistant coach Randy Hanson told police he suffered injuries that resulted in him being treated at an emergency room.

New Vikings QB Brett Favre will start tonight’s preseason game against the Chiefs and play one to two series, according to a team official.
