Pats’ Bruschi to announce retirement Monday

Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi will announce his retirement Monday morning, a league source confirmed to NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora.

The team has a press conference scheduled for 10:45 a.m. ET.

Bruschi, a 13-year pro, played in 189 games, all with the Patriots, including 139 starts. He totaled 30.5 career sacks and 12 interceptions. He also made one Pro Bowl.

He appeared in a franchise record 22 playoff games and played in five Super Bowls, which is tied for the second most in NFL history. He walks away with three Super Bowls rings.
