Eagles without many starters, including Westbrook

PHILADELPHIA — Eagles Pro Bowl RB Brian Westbrook was expected to make his preseason debut tonight against the Jaguars but instead was a scratch.

The Eagles would like to have a good look at their bevvy of talented offensive cogs together — especially with QB Michael Vick making his debut — but that won’t be the case tonight. Westbrook injured his ankle in the spring and just returned to practice a few weeks ago.

The Eagles also are without starting G Todd Herremans, starting OT Shawn Andrews and starting FB Leonard Weaver, although OT Jason Peters, a key offseason acquisition, is set to start.
