Eugene Monroe poised to sign tonight

Eugene Monroe, the offensive lineman from Virginia who was the 8th overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, is set to be the next pick to come to terms with his club. Monroe and the Jacksonville Jaguars are very close to completeing a deal, with the sides expected to finalize and sign a contract tonight in Jacksonville.

Andre Smith (Cincinnati), Michael Crabtree (San Francisco) and Aaron Maybin (Buffalo) also remain unsigned. Some executives and agents believe Smith and Crabtree, in particular, could be out for quite a while longer.
