Some limited quotes have emerged from free-agent QB Michael Vick, as excerpts from the upcoming airing of his 60 Minutes interview have been posted on the show’s official Web site. The full interview will air Sunday.
Without opining on Vick’s answers or how he comes across in the interview excerpt with James Brown, here’s a look at what will be the former Falcons QB’s first public comments since he was imprisoned on federal dogfighting charges.
On the dogfighting operation: “It was wrong, J.B. And, you know, I feel tremendous hurt behind what happened. I should have took the initiative to stop it all. You know, and I didn’t. I didn’t step up. I wasn’t a leader.”
On cynics suggesting that he only cares about his career: “I mean, football doesn’t even matter.”
As for Vick’s possible — or eventual — return to the football field, NFL.com senior writer Steve Wyche posted earlier today that the Bills reiterated their non-interest in the QB by denying floating rumors.
