Saints workout Derrick Brooks and Derek Smith

New Orleans, looking for a linebacker due to injuries, worked out veterans Derrick Brooks and Derek Smith today, according to a league source. Both performed very well, and were well conditioned, with the Saints expected to sign one of them, perhaps in the next few hours.
