Veteran Taylor, rookies shine at Dolphins’ scrimmage

The Associated Press reports that about 3,000 people witnessed one veteran and a slew of rookies make big plays at the Dolphins’ scrimmage Saturday in Davie, Fla.

Jason Taylor, a 12-year veteran, chased down QB Chad Henne several times but later downplayed his effort.

“This is practice,” Taylor said. “I don’t want to sound like Allen Iverson or anything, but this is practice. It is a whole different ballgame come game day. But I know I can do that.”

Rookie CB Sean Smith came up with an interception in the end zone, and Pat White threw the only touchdown pass of the scrimmage to another rookie, WR Chris Williams. More…
