Raiders WR Heyward-Bey struggling to get a grip

The Raiders raised eyebrows and surprised some when they picked Maryland WR Darrius Heyward-Bey with the seventh overall selection in the 2009 NFL Draft. The team could be open for more scrutiny if Heyward-Bey continues to struggle in training camp.
Heyward-Bey dropped four passes on Monday, just one day removed from dropping a trio of passes as Raiders owner Al Davis looked on during Sunday’s practice. But coach Tom Cable is not concerned about his young receiver, believing that the rookie is trying too hard to make an impression.
But if there is one bright spot, Raiders fans — at least Heyward-Bey is signed and in camp. Unlike 49ers rookie WR Michael Crabtree – the player many thought the Raiders were doing to draft.
