The Jaguars and first-round draft pick Eugene Monroe have yet to reach a contract agreement, but the team is hoping to avoid a repeat of last year, when No. 8 overall selection Derrick Harvey missed 33 days of training camp during the longest holdout in franchise history.
Monroe was the No. 8 overall selection in this year’s draft and could start at offensive tackle for the Jaguars.
