Steelers open up afternoon practice to the public

The Saturday afternoon practice underway. The Steelers always celebrate their rich history — they practice on ”CHUCK NOLL FIELD.”

The morning session was closed, but this afternoon it is open. More than 7,000 fans are here. They sit in bleachers, on hills and some bring their own chairs and blankets. A sea of black and gold on green.

The Steelers are working in pads.

James Harrison, the 2008 Defensive Player of the Year, looks in season-opening form. An imposing player.

Cornerback Ike Taylor says he worked with speed coaches this offseason to gain a step. Looks like it paid off.
