Injuries start to mount at camps around the league

Two prominent players have gone down with injuries in practice:

  • Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson, who was recently given renewed hope that he can win the starting job after Brett Favre decided to stay retired, suffered a knee sprain when he was rolled over on by LeTroy Guion. NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reports the sprain is not serious and shouldn’t keep Jackson out an extended period of time. Read more …
  • Jets DT Kris Jenkins said he felt a ”pop, pop” in his leg in a practice drill, but it wound up just being a strained calf. He said he expects to be fine and coach Rex Ryan said, “I don’t think it’s that big a deal.” Jenkins will likely miss at least two days of training. Read more …
  • Browns WR Braylon Edwards is nursing an undisclosed injury and has yet to practice at Cleveland’s training camp. Edwards, who missed minicamp in June with a leg injury, rode a stationary bike, ran sprints and stretched, while his teammates practiced. Read more …
