Around the league

Figured I’d post a few odds and ends before clearing out of the studios here, getting to LAX and heading back to B-more.

  • Agents for Josh Cribbs spent several hours today meeting with the Browns, again, according to league sources, in hopes of getting alterations made to his contract. The sides are set to meet again Saturday. Cribbs is in camp but is seriously considering sitting out the start of the regular season should no changes be made to his deal, which has four years remaining.
  • Tight end Brandon Pettigrew’s five-year deal with the Lions is worth a maximum of $14.6 million, with $9.6 million guaranteed.
  • A lot of progress was made today between the Arizona Cardinals and first-round pick Chris “Beanie” Wells, according to a source, with it possible an agreement could be struck with the running back tonight.
  • Similarly, the Giants and Hakeem Nicks, their first round pick, could have something completed by Saturday morning, according to a source.
  • Alright, if I hear anything else from the airport, I will update. Gonna try to get caught up on my emails as well before the flight takes off. Have a great weekend.
