Rams sign No. 2 overall draft pick Smith

The Rams announced that they have signed rookie OT Jason Smith, the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft, to a contract. Terms weren’t disclosed.

No. 1 pick Matthew Stafford received a six-year, $72 million deal from the Lions, and No. 5 pick Mark Sanchez landed a five-year, $60 million deal from the Jets, so Smith’s contract figures to fall in between those numbers.
