Notes from Eagles camp: DC Johnson remembered

A few quick notes as the Eagles wind up practice in Bethlehem, Pa.:

  • Off on a hill adjacent to the practice field remain the letters “JJ” in white, inside a white outer circle with a background of black inside. Late defensive coordinator Jim Johnson remembered.
  • Big Andy Reid is wearing all black under the big sun. That takes a tough coach.
  • The first full practice of rookies and veterans was fast-paced but not as sharp as Reid would like.
  • Donovan McNabb‘s red-zone passing looks to be in midseason form.
  • Rookie RB LeSean McCoy is showing a ton of shake-and-bake elusiveness.
  • Missing from practice were CB Asante Samuel (hamstring), OG Shawn Andrews (back) and OT Jason Peters (quad).
