Offensive lineman Eric Wood has agreed to a five-year contract with the Bills, according to a league source, becoming the fifth first-round pick from the 2009 draft class to reach a deal.
Wood, who has a chance to play right away, had missed the first four days of camp, but he is expected to be signed and with the team tomorrow. The Bills also are close to a deal with second-round pick Jairus Byrd, a cornerback from Oregon.
The Giants are getting close with OT William Beatty, a second-round pick out of Connecticut, according to a source, and also are making steady progress with first-rounder Hakeem Nicks, a wideout from North Carolina.
The flurry of signings should continue tomorrow as well, as more teams draw closer to opening camp.
