Packers wideout Greg Jennings had some memorable moments with Brett Favre as his quarterback. Now, with Favre potentially the Vikings’ next QB, Jennings told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune he is just happy that the all of the offseason drama has moved from Green Bay to Minnesota.
“It’s the beauty of the game,” Jennings said of the fact the Favre distraction won’t bother his team. “Last year we had a lot of ‘What ifs?’ That “if” was kind of floating around above everybody’s head. But this year there is no doubt about who’s the guy. We’re coming in solid, everybody knows what to expect from everyone else and there’s no excuse.”
Other notes from around the web on Saturday:
- With three new starters on the offensive line, Eagles.com writes the team needs to make cohesiveness of the unit an early focus in training camp, which opens July 26.
- Chicago offensive line coach Harry Hiestand talks about the team’s veterean group with Bears.com and says young T Chris Williams is making “tremendous progress.
- The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the Bengals and franchised kicker Shayne Graham remain far apart on a contract extension ahead of a July 15 deadline.
- The San Diego Union-Tribune’s Kevin Acee spent a day with the Chargers’ Antonio Cromartie last week and said the cornerback is working hard to become one of the more consistent players at his position.
