Panthers DE Julius Peppers has been unhappy for most of the offseason and demanded a trade. But after months of rumors and no movement, Peppers signed his one-year franchise tender on Wednesday worth $16.7 million. Now, he’s apparently open to signing a long-term extension with the team.
The Baltimore Ravens have agreed to terms with third-round pick Lardarius Webb, with the rookie cornerback scheduled to sign his contract shortly, according to a league source.
The rumor mill has churned all offseason in regards to possible destinations for veteran free-agent LB Derrick Brooks. One team consistently mentioned is the Saints, but The Times-Picayune reports the chances of Brooks landing in New Orleans are “remote.”
