The San Diego Union-Tribune is reporting that the Chargers have been preparing for the defense of the ‘Wildcat’ formation for the upcoming season. But it could have an added benefit. The Chargers could end up running some plays out of the formation.
- “If we practice it enough and get good enough at it . . . We’ve got versatile enough guys, if we can get some plays out of it, it will be good,” [Coach Norv] Turner said.
Running back LaDainian Tomlinson does have seven career touchdown passes, including three in 2005.
Other news and notes from around the Web:
- The Dolphins have been quiet about their plans for the ‘Wildcat’ this season.
- No clear cut leader in the race to be the Buccaneers quarterback.
- The Redskins are bemoaning the release of veteran WR James Thrash.
