Ravens’ Mason unsure when he’ll return after surgery

The Baltimore Sun reports that there is no timetable for the return of veteran WR Derrick Mason.
Mason has missed the entire offseason while he recovers from shoulder surgery. He started 16 games in 2008 despite injuring his shoulder in Week 10 and ended the season with 80 receptions for 1,037 yards and five touchdowns.
Here’s what Mason had to tell the Sun:
- “You never know with Superman. I can come out with the cape and it could be the first day [of training camp] or the second week,” Mason said. “You never know. But I’m optimistic that when it’s time to play, I’ll be able to play whenever it is. I’ll be able to play when we play Kansas City [in the regular-season opener].”
