If QB Brett Favre decides to come out of retirement and play for the Vikings, he would return to Green Bay to face his former team, the Packers, on Nov. 1.
According to the Green Bay Press-Gazette, a group of friends and family would be there to cheer him on, as someone close to Favre has booked 25 to 30 rooms at a hotel near Lambeau Field for that weekend:
- “They called and said if he goes to Minnesota they definitely want to be at the game,” said Doug Warpinski, the Ashwaubenon hotel’s manager.
The Press-Gazette says that call came “about two months ago,” around the time that Favre became a free agent. He was released by the Jets on April 28, two months after he announced that he would retire from the NFL.
However, Favre is considering a comeback, and he reportedly had surgery to repair a torn biceps tendon in his throwing arm. The Vikings are considered to be the lead suitor for the probable Hall of Fame QB’s services.
