Saints RB Pierre Thomas dislocated his left wrist in Week 15 last season, then had to undergo surgery to repair it. At practice Saturday, Thomas bruised the same wrist when DT Sedrick Ellis grabbed for the ball in his hands.
According to The Times-Picayune, Thomas sat out of the team portion of the final day of the Saints’ minicamp Sunday as a precaution. Thomas participated in the individual drills wearing an extra brace padded with tape.
Thomas said the wrist has improved since being hit Saturday and that once it’s healed, he doesn’t anticipate any lingering issues, he told The Times-Picayune:
- “I’m still in the process of getting it better after the surgery, so it’s going to take a while. But it’s getting stronger. Hopefully since he did hit it, he tore some of my scar tissue up and it’s going to help me out. Now I just got to have to get the swelling down. I believe as soon as I get that down I’m not going to have any problems.”
