Niners’ Bly taking first preseason game seriously

Dre’ Bly isn’t hiding his feelings. The former Pro Bowl cornerback is looking forward to the 49ers’ first preseason game.
The opponent? The Broncos, who cut Bly in February just two years into a five-year, $33 million contract.
After Bly signed with the 49ers on May 21, he didn’t hold back his disappointment over being released by the Broncos, saying: “I’ve never been told no in my football career. I’m just so hungry after that.”
Bly repeated that sentiment Monday after his first practice with the 49ers.
“Oh, I’m looking forward to that (preseason game against the Broncos),” Bly said. “Normally, for first preseason games for me, there hasn’t been many snaps, but however many snaps I get, I’m going to be licking my chops because any time you leave a former team, you look forward to competing.”
Bly added that “it’s nothing personal” against the Broncos and that he’s happy to be reunited with former Rams teammate Isaac Bruce in San Francisco. The 49ers are Bly’s fourth team after stops with the Rams (1999-2002), Lions (2003-06) and, of course, Broncos.
