Steelers WR Hines Ward had some interesting thoughts on the new rule that bears his name. NFL owners established the “Hines Ward Rule” this offseason in order to prevent a blocker from using his helmet, forearm or shoulder to hit a defender from behind or from the side.

The New Orleans Saints have held internal discussions about pursuing free-agent RB Edgerrin James, but they most likely will wait until after this weekend’s minicamp before re-visiting those conversations, general manager Mickey Loomis told NFL.com.

The Browns’ coaching staff was impressed with former Texas Tech QB Graham Harrell, but the team didn’t offer him a contract after his tryout at rookie minicamp, Harrell’s agent told the Cleveland Plain Dealer. However, Browns coach Eric Mangini left the door open for Harrell to be a part of the team sometime down the road.
