Agent Drew Rosenhaus recently said two teams have expressed interest in his client, free-agent WR Plaxico Burress. The Rams aren’t one of those teams, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
“No interest. None,” Rams general manager Billy Devaney told the Post-Dispatch‘s Bernie Miklasz regarding Burress.
With former Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo taking over the Rams this year, some people have connected the dots to an interest in Burress, also a former Giant. However, Devaney’s comments Tuesday put that to rest.
Devaney became the second GM in two days to downplay any interest in Burress after the Bears’ Jerry Angelo told the Chicago Tribune that the team wasn’t one of the two aforementioned teams mentioned by Rosenhaus.
So far, the Jets are the only team to publicly express interest in Burress, admitting to having called Rosenhaus before last month’s draft to gauge the wide receiver’s availability.
