The Detroit Free Press reports that free-agent LB Larry Foote will visit the Lions on Wednesday.
Foote’s agent, Ken Kremer, confirmed the visit in an e-mail that he sent to the Free Press on Tuesday.
Foote was released by the Steelers on Monday after he told the team that he wanted to be traded or released last week. Foote, a Detroit native, played college football at Michigan and has said that he’d like to play for the Lions.
Foote was a key member of two Steelers Super Bowl championship teams, but he steadily lost playing time to Lawrence Timmons, who figures to become a starter in Pittsburgh next season.
