It was as if the Patriots’ world returned to its axis Thursday, when QB Tom Brady came back to the practice field. The weather was awful — 45 to 50 degrees with a cold drizzle — which left the 80 or so media members on hand chilled to the bone while giving No. 12 a warm welcome.

You have to figure that some Vikings fans don’t want Brett Favre to play in Minnesota. He was the quarterback in Green Bay for nearly 20 years, you know. Favre as a Viking would be akin to Darth Vader flying the Millennium Falcon — it just doesn’t look right, even if he’s fighting on your side.
