Fans attending an autograph signing for Lance Briggs in Algonquin, Ill., saw a lot more than they anticipated when the Bears’ linebacker appeared with his right hand heavily bandaged.

Briggs has been known for being involved in some freak accidents — or at least walking away from them. Briggs wrecked his Lamborghini two years ago but wasn’t injured.

However, Briggs didn’t escape injury this time. The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Briggs told the autograph seekers that he cut his hand while shaving with a straight razor.

Briggs is expected to have his injury examined by the Bears today when he shows up for the team’s voluntary workout. He was absent from the team’s training facility Monday.
