ST. LOUIS — Here’s a little bit of the buzz emanating from the Gateway City less than three hours before the draft:
- There is some potential for trade activity at the front end of the draft. Where a move could be made is anyone’s guess, but it appears QB Mark Sanchez is the target that’s creating the stir. The Rams continue to say Sanchez is a possibility for them with the No. 2 pick, even though they have more pressing needs. If the Rams select Sanchez or find a trade partner for the pick, the first major domino of the draft will have fallen.
- There apparently isn’t much trade talk for Browns QB Brady Quinn at the moment. Sources have said it would be a huge surprise if Quinn is moved. But what happens with Sanchez could set off a chain reaction.
- Browns WR Braylon Edwards could be on the move, but maybe not to the New York Giants, where he frequently has been linked. Apparently, the teams haven’t spoken about Edwards in weeks.
- I’m hearing more talk that Florida WR Percy Harvin is hot enough to where he could be selected in the teens.
