IRVING, Texas — Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told me that he’s getting a little antsy and that’s he’s chomping at the bit right now as the first round winds to a close. The man they call ‘Trader Jerry’ has yet to make a move in the draft. So far.
Jones watched as the Lions took TE Bradon Pettigrew with the No. 20 selection — the picks that Cowboys gave the Lions for WR Roy Williams. Jones doesn’t regret that move at all and called it one of the best deals that he’s ever made.
Things are starting to pick up around here. The Cowboys have the 19th pick in the second round (51 overall). I asked Jones if he was planning to move up, but he didn’t give an indication one way or the other.
