Texas Tech WR Michael Crabtree might be in New York City for the first time, but he appears completely comfortable in this advertising-driven culture.
At the NFL’s Play 60 event in Central Park, Crabtree was asked to give advice to the kids. Without hesitation, he immediately quipped “You should play outside an hour every day,” making sure to plug the Play 60 program in the process. As everyone laughed, Crabtree grinned toward the Play 60 signage as to give his full endorsement to the initiative.
That was just the warm-up. Later Crabtree was asked by a roving child reporter what his favorite healthy food was. Crabtree began to smile and enthusiastically responded, “Subway! Eat Fresh!”
Why would Crabtree answer the question like that you may wonder? Well, it was recently announced that he signed an endorsement deal with the food chain. Either the executives on Madison Ave. must have trained him well, or he is a quick study.
As for his first New York experience, Crabtree gushed about the city.
“The city looks good, man. It’s a lot of fun right now,” Crabtree said. “The best part is just walking around. If you’ve never been here, you just want to walk around.”
