Falcons still open to trading rights to Vick

The Falcons own the 24th overall pick in this weekend’s NFL draft, but they aren’t against moving up or down for the right deal, according to general manager Thomas Dimitroff.
One scenario the team would consider is trading the rights to suspended QB Michael Vick, Dimitroff told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:
“I think it’s important to understand with Michael right now, that we are kind of anchored in and focused on the draft, but if someone does want to discuss Michael Vick with us we’ll definitely entertain the discussions during the draft.”
One factor in any team’s decision to take on Vick will be the conditions that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell requires for the quarterback’s reinstatement to the league. On Tuesday, Goodell said a decision on Vick’s status will not be made until his legal issues have been resolved. Vick’s attitude, Goodell said, ultimately will impact the decision on whether or not to reinstate him:
“… I will want to meet with Michael, I will want to meet with his people, I will want to meet with other professionals to understand: Does he understand the mistakes he made, and is he genuine and have remorse for those actions, and is he prepared to handle himself differently going forward? That will ultimately be my decision,” Goodell said.
