Texans LB Ryans will put contract issue aside, report

Texans LB DeMeco Ryans, who missed the team’s voluntary workouts earlier this offseason because of his unhappiness with his current contract, has decided to report to Houston on Monday and participate in the program.

Ryans, who recently switched agents from Kirk Wood to Ben Dogra, told the Houston Chronicle that he’ll worry about football and let his representatives handle the financial side of things:

“I missed my teammates,” Ryans said Thursday. “I’m ready to get with them and lead them and prepare to go to battle with them.
“The adrenalin’s already flowing. I think it’s best for me to get back and start focusing on football. That’s what I do best. I’ll let my agent handle my contract.”

Ryans has started all 48 games in his three NFL seasons and led the Texans in tackles each year. He is scheduled to make $1.39 million next season.
