Chargers DT Jamal Williams will be charged with reckless driving after a Feb. 1 incident, according to the San Diego City Attorney’s office (via the San Diego Union-Tribune).
Williams was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving after he was pulled over for speeding on Route 94 east of downtown San Diego. Williams was booked into county jail and later released on bail. Williams’ blood sample showed a blood-alcohol level of 0.07, under the California legal limit of 0.08.
More from the Union-Tribune:
- “We will not be filing charges for (DUI) as we do not believe we can prove a DUI charge beyond a reasonable doubt,” said Gina Coburn, spokeswoman for the city attorney.
Williams’ arraignment in San Diego Superior Court is scheduled for April 23.
