The Post-Standard in Syracuse, N.Y., reports that the Jets have picked SUNY Cortland as their top choice to host the team’s training camp over Cornell University, Utica College and Marist College. Neither the Jets nor Cortland officials have confirmed the report.
The Jets had previously trained at Hofstra University and recently moved into a $75 million facility in Florham Park, N.J. However, new Jets coach Rex Ryan wants at least part of training camp to be held away from New York for team-building purposes.
The New York Daily News reports that Syracuse University would like to host a preseason game at the Carrier Dome if the Jets do end up spending their summers at Cortland, which is 33 miles down the road.
