Raiders owner Al Davis has long loved wide receivers who can go vertical. So it should come as no surprise that the Raiders were in College Park, Md., to work out Maryland WR Darrius Heyward-Bey, according to The Baltimore Sun.
The Raiders pick seventh in this month’s NFL draft and are expected to target a receiver. The Raiders could be choosing between Heyward-Bey, Texas Tech’s Michael Crabtree or Missouri’s Jeremy Maclin. The Sun also reports that Heyward-Bey will visit the St. Louis Rams next week. The Rams hold the No. 2 overall pick in the draft, but they have said they would consider trade offers for the selection.
