New Denver Broncos QB Kyle Orton arrived at the team’s practice facility Friday morning, met with his teammates and immersed himself in the playbook. Not a bad start.
Orton admitted to The Denver Post that he was surprised to be traded, but he said he’s ready to get to work with the Broncos. And while Chicago celebrates with a new quarterback, Jay Cutler, Orton wants to show his Denver teammates and fans that he can win some games, too.
- “I couldn’t wait to get out here and get to know the guys first and foremost,” Orton said in his first interview since the trade. “And then dive headfirst into learning a new system.
- “I’ve taken the same approach my entire and that is, my job description is to win football games. And I’ve done a pretty good job of that and I plan to keep that up. I’m a hard worker. I’m not flashy by any means but my job is to play football and win and I plan to do that.”
The playbook that Orton is studying might even be Cutler’s. The Post reports that Cutler’s father, Jack, stopped by the Broncos’ facility Friday morning to drop off his son’s playbook.
