Jones still missing from Jets’ voluntary workouts

Jets RB Thomas Jones is seeking a new contract after his career year in 2008. So, not surprisingly, he was again absent from team headquarters as the Jets opened their second week of voluntary workouts, a team source told the Newark Star-Ledger.

The workouts are considered voluntary, so the big news will happen if Jones skips the mandatory pre-draft minicamp.

Jones rushed for 1,312 yards and 13 touchdowns in 2008.
